The WELL Market – Working Eating Living Learning – “Healthy food, Healthier communities”. The WELL is a youth-run farm stand providing healthy, local organic produce to people living in the Northwest Gainsboro neighborhood. Fruits and vegetables such as greens, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and squash are harvested from the George Washington Carver Community Garden in Northwest Roanoke, local farms in the Roanoke Valley and Floyd County through LEAP (Local Environmental Agriculture Project) distribution, and Apple Ridge Farm. Revenue from the sale of produce goes directly back into educational programs and continues to fund youth involvement and entrepreneurial skill development. The WELL Market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. June through October. The W.E.L.L is in partnership with Carilion Clinic, One Valley and Northwest Neighborhood Environment Organization (NNEO).
Farm Days In The Garden. Work in the garden and learn about how your vegetables and fruit are grown. For your work in the garden, you will go home with fresh vegetables!
